The Forgotten Harbour

KILHARBOUR – EL MUELLE
Choose Wisely

Every town has a past.
Kilharbour has several.

For generations, ships arrived here carrying cargo, fuel, machinery and people looking for work. The docks became the centre of the town, and everything eventually came back to the water.
Factories grew around the harbour.

Warehouses followed.
Then came the pubs, garages, boarding houses and small businesses that depended on the people passing through.
But prosperity never lasted forever.

The industries moved elsewhere.
The ships became fewer.
The warehouses emptied.

And slowly, Kilharbour became a place people passed through rather than a place people came to.
Yet the harbour remained.
Rust replaced paint.

Old buildings remained standing long after their original owners disappeared.
Some businesses survived.
Others changed hands.
Some simply changed their names.

And somewhere along the way, Kilharbour acquired a reputation.
A place where questions were not always welcome.
A place where people sometimes arrived without wanting to be noticed.

A place where the difference between legitimate business and criminal business could become difficult to see.

The harbour was forgotten.
But it was never abandoned.
