SENEX PETROVIC (Petrovichy)
The Captain of Kilharbour

The Captain of Kilharbour · Patron of the Forgotten Harbour
Some men inherit their fortunes. Others inherit their enemies. The Captain seems to have acquired both.
In Kilharbour, Senex Petrovic is known as the Captain.
No one seems entirely certain when the title became his, nor is there much agreement about what he did to earn it. Some claim he spent years at sea. Others speak of old shipping ventures, lost cargoes and debts that were never properly settled. Senex has never shown much interest in correcting the stories.
A familiar presence around El Muelle, he is regarded by some as one of the few men still willing to invest in a town everyone else has abandoned. Through private donations and discreet financial arrangements, he has helped keep small businesses afloat, supported local projects and ensured that The Jolly Roger Pub, one of Kilharbour’s last enduring landmarks, continues to open its doors.
His contributions to the local police are equally well known. Equipment, funding and other forms of assistance have found their way into official hands, earning him a degree of respect among those responsible for maintaining order.
Naturally, this has done little to silence the rumours.
There are stories of questionable cargoes, favours exchanged behind closed doors and business arrangements that never appear in public records. Certain people in Ironhold know his name. Others would rather not hear it mentioned. Whether these connections are a matter of friendship, old debts or something less respectable remains open to speculation.
The Captain rarely discusses his affairs. He is sociable when he chooses to be, generous when it suits him and difficult to read when it matters most.
Some call him a benefactor. Others consider him a necessary evil.
Perhaps he is simply a businessman who understands that, in a forgotten harbour, influence is worth more than money — and that the most useful investments are rarely the ones recorded in a ledger.
In Kilharbour, the Captain helps keep the lights on.
Who benefits from the darkness is another matter entirely.
